One year after my Forrest Gump moment

Well it is just about one year since I got up one day and decided to go for a run. :-)
I remember being so pleased with myself after completing 1 mile.  A few weeks later I ran my first 5k.  Months later I ran a 10 miler.  This morning for my regular Sunday morning run, I ran 4.5 miles.
It has been quite a feeling of accomplishment over the year.  I went into this partly because I wanted to lose weight.  Midway in and I still had not lost anything, my goal changed.  I now would like to run a marathon.  That's right a MARATHON!!! 26.2 miles!!!
I have not lost any weight but my fitness level has been increased.  I feel a lot better.  I have never been athletic so it really is quite new to me.  This morning I woke up at 6:15am so I could beat the heat.  That is just crazy! Well so I would have thought 2 years ago.  Another thing I noticed, while driving and I see my destination on a road sign listed with the miles - ex. Annapolis 9 miles - I think, "I can run that."  Actually if it's 10 miles or less I think that.  So I hope to one day ponder, "25 miles? oh I can so run that."
