Beware of "free" advice :-)

I was recently speaking to a dear friend who received some, well quite unsolicited advice.  Of course when she told me what was said and by who it was very amusing.
Why do people fee the need to give advice on that which they do not know?  Now of course there are times when people who care about us feel the need to point out things or in fact offer sincere advice.  But, whenever someone approaches me from the standpoint of knowing what is good for me, I become very suspicious.
I am reminded of something my grandmother often said "mouth mek to talk" - simply put - a function of the mouth is to talk.  Some people love to talk, whether they need to or not.  Many people love to give "advice."  I have found that those who go around giving advice and butting their noses into other peoples' affairs, well, are just avoiding their own affairs.
To make matters worst, the person who gave my friend the advice, told her to keep it a secret.  Can we say red flag? Well if the advice is so great, why not want it broadcast?  One would think with such great advice, they would want to take credit.
