Weather rambling

Yet another morning of waking up to the blanket of white.  There is still at least a foot of snow still on the ground.  It is no longer picturesque, it is quite gloomy to look at.  I went skiing a couple of times in the woods near the house but other than that, no outdoor exercise.  I have not had a run in almost a month.  I miss running.  (There I said it.)
But  really, the bare trees and the starkness of the landscape is quite depressing. In the past few weeks since the first blizzard, I have rarely left the house - unless you count shoveling then that will skew the numbers.
Last year this time there were buds on the trees and bulbs attempting to pop up.  Today the weatherman is saying we may have a chance of more snow next week. My Farmer's Almanac has snow predicted through March.  It has been right since December so at least my mind is prepared, sort of.
Yesterday I had the kids try to dig out the deck just so I would be able to see something other than snow when I look out.
Oh well just have to accept it.  So glad the weather has nothing to do with Global Warming or Climate Change though,  because, well, that would be really depressing.
