Let me get this straight. You claim you are an Independent. You "help" to elect a liberal leaning Democrat president and one year in, you are voting Republican? No, my friend, you are not Independent! You are confused and impatient. There is no such thing as an "Independent" voter. These voters are Republicans who get upset at their party and protest by voting Democratic. If they were really "Independent", then why not vote Independent?
The two main parties have opposing views on just about everything. Their platforms are so different there is no way you can just switch beliefs at the drop of a hat.
