A Friend

One of my Facebook friends posted a quote by Dinah Craik and so I went to look her up.  I found a quote that could have come from me.

"But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely."

I think our friends individually mirror different qualities of our personality.  But, we need one person with whom we can speak fearlessly.  
That is not to say our friends should be copies of us.  I think of my friends like the spices in my pantry.  There are some spices that are utilized more frequently than others.  All the spices are valued for their particular flavor.  Salt and pepper are the dependable stand-byes, but there are times when cumin or ginger are needed.
