Absence

The virus really did a number on me.  It took forever to sort it out.  Then the holidays appeared.
I felt I was just starting to get into a groove trying to write in the blog consistently, then got sidetracked.
Anyhoo barely survived Christmas.  It is such a huge build up to the one day.  In other places where they celebrate Boxing Day there is at least a bit of a stretch. 
All the baking, cleaning, cooking, shopping, wrapping, mailing - then in one day day poof.
I went to Target on Boxing Day (humor me) to get a replacement (more later) and the Valentine's stuff was out.  I know it all about marketing and getting us to buy things but come on, New Year's stuff was on the end of one aisle. 
It just seems there was a time when Christmas was a "season" not one day.
