It's my birthday!!! Which one? Not important.
I usually take the period around my birthday to contemplate the previous year and to some extent my life to the current point. I try to take honest evaluations on my life. I want to know if improvements have been made, goals met and what still needs work.
As we get older many of us do not celebrate the day with much fanfare. I usually just want to do nothing, for it to be a day without schedules. This year the day is sort of paused. Usually we, the family, are together for everyones' birthdays. But, now with my daughter in public school we have started pausing birthday celebrations until she gets home. Even my husband usually takes our birthdays off because we all spend the day together. So this year I told him he could still work since nothing would happen until after school.
I imagine this was just one of many "traditions" we took for granted as a "fully" homeschooling family.
